TRANQUILITY
Do you know what we offer you at our year-round vacation retreat? At Tranquility, we have just the place for you, your family and friends, or a
significant other! A quiet location to relax, unwind, and chill out OR a vacation spot where you can find all the adventure and discoveries you
are seeking. At our home, you can find a secluded place of your own or gather with family and friends to enjoy many exciting and fun
activities. We have included information below relating to our home and the surrounding Adirondack Area to help you with your vacation
needs and desires.
SETTINGS/ACCOMMODATIONS: Our country cottage comfortable sleeps six and offers many amenities that will surprise you. You are
nestled in a private setting where a stream runs through the property. The sound of the babbling water soothes and calms you just enough
to get you ready for a day’s adventure or a day’s relaxation on the sun porch. You might want to give those sore muscles a rejuvenating
Jacuzzi. Maybe you just want to wade in the stream and splash some pure, clean Adirondack Mountain water all other you. If you decide on
a day of adventure like boating, kayaking, and fishing, well it is down to the lake you go to your own private deck and dock for water sports. If
you like hiking, skiing or snowmobiling, these activities are also practically at our doorstep as they abound in the Great Sacandaga Lake
Area.
OUTDOOR PURSUITS: Bring your own motor boat as you can launch close by and tie up at our buoy. Don’t have a boat? Don’t worry. You
can rent a motorboat with tubes and water skiis from one of the local marinas. There is also white water rafting on the Hudson and
Sacandaga Rivers just a few miles away. You might want to catch a Northern Pike, Trout, Largemouth Bass, Pickerel, Musky, or Walleyed
Pike in Great Sacandaga Lake or in the many lakes, rivers, and streams that are abundant here in the Adirondack Park . Also, you may want
to visit Cabela’s to get geared up.
RELAXATION: Prefer not to join in all the physical activities? You might enjoy a mineral bath, massage therapy, or body treatments at the
Roosevelt Baths and Spa in Saratoga Springs . While you are in Saratoga , how about visiting the Outlet Vendors, Crafts stores, and
antique shops or get out your bonnet and head to the races to see a thoroughbred horse race on an historic racetrack? We are only 30
minutes from Saratoga Springs where racing has been an attraction for over 100 years and some of the best thoroughbred racehorses can
be found. This historic racetrack is only open for thoroughbred racing for 6 weeks; so, book your week early.
ROMANCE: Looking for a romantic weekend away with your significant other? Cozy up in front of our gas fireplace or swirl around in the
Jacuzzi. We have many fine restaurants in the area with gourmet food. Maybe you want to prepare a special meal for a special person?
Check out the Saratoga Farmer’s Market open May through December on Wednesdays and Saturdays at High Rock Park to choose your
culinary delights. Another possibility is a dreamy Steamboat ride on Lake George while enjoying dinner and dancing.
CONCERTS: A great attraction of the area is the Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Route 50 in Saratoga Springs . The SPAC is the
summer home of The New York City Ballet and The Philadelphia Orchestra as well as the location of many chamber, pop, jazz, and opera
concerts including pop performances of Earth, Wind, and Fire; Tom Petty; Meat Loaf; Motley Crue; and The Dave Mathews Band. Congress
Park off Broadway in Saratoga has many multicultural events including free concerts in the park and guided walking tours. Furthermore, you
can also attend concerts and plays at The Arts Center Theatre on Broadway and Skidmore College . For more information, check out
saratoga.org.
HISTORY: Are you a history buff? Well then, step back in time and visit Saratoga State Park , Adirondack Museum , The Ulysses S. Grant
State Historic site, Fort Ticonderoga as well as the Schuyler House in Schuylerville. These historic sites/museums are fun for the whole
family as you can see and participate in hands-on exhibits of barn raising, oxen cart rides, quilting, candle making, battle reenactments,
tinsmithing, blacksmithing, and much more.

Dear Katherine,
I wanted to formally tell you what a wonderful time I had up at
your home. Tranquility is a perfect name for it. Nature abounds
everywhere. I had such fun watching the hummingbirds at the
feeders. While sitting on the front deck, the sounds of the birds,
along with the stream gurgling in the back, brought me to a
wonderful place. You have given much love and attention to your
garden-the colors are magnificent. I tried my hand at fishing by the
lake and even caught myself some dinner. Toward the evening, I sat
by the bridge and read until it was time for my campfire. My smores
were to die for!! As if I were not fully relaxed yet, your whirlpool bath
put the finishing touches to fun-filled day. Thank you so much for
making me feel welcome. I will be booking with you again next year.
Take care!
Doris

Girls Weekend 11/11/11 What a wonderful and much needed weekend we had. We went to the Saratoga Winery and tasted some of the local offerings (along with a wonderful cheese platter). We then went to the Saratoga Hot Springs Spa for mineral baths and relaxation. Sitting by a roaring campfire and listening to the stream in the background reminded me how lucky we are to have nature all around us. If that weren't enough, the meal that we prepared in your kitchen and on your barbeque was to die for. Of course, the whirlpool bath took us a whole step further. Thank you for allowing us to share your little secret hideaway at Tranquility. The New Jerseyites
